Subproject (SP) 9
Project institute: Leibniz-Centre for
Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) e. V. Müncheberg, Department of Land Use
Systems and Landscape Ecology
Title:
Integrated
crop management for Precision Farming as the central layer of the information
driven crop production
Short
title: Integrated crop management
Goals
of the subproject: Development of basic principles and methods which
allow the determination of site-specific farming for heterogeneous crop stands
as an associated sequence of procedures.
Position
of the subproject within the joint project: This subproject is the
integration layer for plant cultivation of the joint project. The practical
experiments are organised. The subproject belongs to the project at area
integrative management of crop stands.
Within
the subproject integrated crop management basic principles and methods will be
developed, which allow the determination of site-specific farming for
heterogeneous crop stands as an associated sequence of procedures.
Prerequisites
for proper site-specific plant production on a field are a complex observation
of the previous tasks, requirements in the future, potentials for this area and
ecological sensibilities.
Adequate
experiments of arable fields allow even more the deduction of production
functions. These production functions are fundamentals for decision making of
single tasks on parts of a field.
Corresponding
methods, protocols and analysing routines shall be developed in this subproject
for planning, installation, execution and analysing of such experiments.
On
both farms, one located in Lower-Saxony, one in Saxony-Anhalt, first field
trials in the year 2005 were carried out for site-specific nitrogen application
and site-specific sowing.
